Experts from nearly a dozen disciplines are working together on two projects, funded through the McMaster Institute for Research in Aging and the Labarge Centre for Mobility in Aging
Seniors from the Hamilton community recently took part in Senior Fit Test Day at McMaster’s Physical Activity Centre of Excellence (PACE) – part of an exercise and wellness program designed to support older adults and promote successful aging.
The findings have uncovered a novel genetic control of lipid maintenance and its potential connection to lifespan. The team is currently working to understand how the newly discovered genetic mechanism links lipids to aging.
