Bacteriophages are beneficial viruses that could change the course of medicine and agriculture, especially as antibiotic resistance grows worldwide.
Hong Han, an assistant professor with the Department of Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences, has been awarded a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair, while Sheila Singh, a professor with the Department of Surgery, has had her Tier 1 Canada Research Chair renewed.
Students will perform hands-on nuclear research in areas of national strategic importance, including small modular reactors, medical isotopes, nuclear imaging and materials science.
