It took an astronomical effort, but Professor Robert Cockcroft's eclipse outreach dreams — giving away eclipse glasses, hosting an Indigenous astronomy panel, running special planetarium shows and hosting a free on-campus viewing party — all came true.
Since 1959, the McMaster Nuclear Reactor has driven groundbreaking discoveries in energy, medicine and materials; fuelled job creation and the economy; and provided unique training opportunities for future generations of nuclear leaders.
The two world-leading nuclear research institutions will work together to optimize production of a radioisotope to better diagnose cancer, cardiovascular problems and other diseases.
