McMaster researcher Eric Brown's start-up firm Synmedix will soon test a new topical preparation of bicarbonate mixed with the antibiotic azithromycin to treat infected diabetic foot ulcers.
Two McMaster startups — Synmedix and Insight Medbotics — have received a combined $735,000 to move their innovations closer to reality.
The two special call projects and three Exploration projects will study turtle habitats, collaborative remote research, revitalization of Indigenous languages, innovative antibiotic delivery and better auditory assistive tech.
