Over the past decade, leading McMaster researchers have been teaming up with communities in Hamilton and beyond to tackle local water issues through a number of innovative projects funded by the RBC Blue Water Foundation.
Pat Chow-Fraser has spent her career researching the health of water, fish and wildlife in the streams and coastal areas of the Great Lakes basin, and working with communities and environmental agencies alike to monitor, restore and protect the aquatic ecosystems it sustains.
For World Water Week 2018 (November 20-23), we're highlighting some of the water research that's happening at Mac. First is Dawn Martin-Hill's interdisciplinary Global Water Futures Project, "Co-Creation of Indigenous Water Quality Tools," which brings together McMaster researchers and Indigenous partners to address water quality in Indigenous communities.
